Server announcements
From the Fall of Varrock Wiki - Where server-wide headlines show up - the ticker above the chat box - and how to tune it.
Server-wide headlines - boss spawns, war captures, marches, events, Castle Wars horns - don't scroll away in your chat. They show in the announcement ticker: coloured lines stacked directly above the chat box, each with a diamond marker, newest at the bottom.
How it works
- Headlines hold on screen for about a minute, then fade; up to three show at once.
- They don't appear in the chat box at all - the ticker is their home, so your chat stays clean for conversation.
- Each line keeps the colour of its event type (war red, victory green, gold for big wins).
Tuning it
Open the client's plugin settings and find Fall of Varrock Announcements:
- Show ticker - turn the ticker off entirely.
- Hide from chat box - untick if you'd rather broadcasts also land in your chat history.
- Lines shown / Hold time / Font size - how many headlines stack, how long they stay, and how big they draw.
On a vanilla client the same broadcasts simply appear as chat lines instead - you miss nothing, just the presentation.
