Slayer & resource contracts
Vannaka is the realm's Slayer master, stationed in the Lumbridge market cluster. He hands out two kinds of work: combat tasks and gathering contracts. Reach him via ::portalto slayer_master.
Slayer tasks
Right-click Vannaka → Assignment for a task. The starter roster runs from goblins, rats and chickens up through skeletons, zombies and guards, in batches of roughly 15-45 kills. Kills auto-track - check progress anytime with ::slayer.
Assignments scale with you: trivial monsters retire from the pool as your combat level grows, and each feudal rank bought from Duke Horacio unlocks tougher, better-paying contracts - hobgoblins and dark wizards at Commoner, Black Knights and Hill Giants at Squire, then the demons that overran the fallen cities at Soldier and Knight. Vannaka leans toward the best tier you've unlocked, and never hands you the same monster twice in a row (unless it's the only task you qualify for).
While a task is active, the client's Task Helper plugin points a cyan arrow (scene + minimap) at your target's hunting ground, captioned with your kill count - and once the monsters are in sight, the arrow hands off to cyan outlines on the monsters themselves (with minimap dots), covering every variant that counts for the kill. The Slayer dial in the top-left dial column tracks the same progress. Prefer to hunt unaided? Toggle Lof Task Helper off in the plugin list. ::slayertele still teleports you straight there.
Completing tasks pays War Effort, with a bonus that grows every fifth completion in a streak - so keeping a streak alive matters. Spend it in Vannaka's Rewards shop.
Resource contracts
Vannaka also issues gathering contracts, independent of your combat task:

Contracts auto-complete as you gather - no turn-in trip needed. The coins and War Effort land the moment you hit the quota. Vannaka never hands you the same contract twice in a row (unless it's the only work your skills qualify for).
Fishing contracts: a fishing spot normally lands the best fish your level and gear allow, so a "gather raw shrimps" contract would otherwise pay you nothing while you reel in anchovies. Taking a fishing contract now points you at the contracted fish automatically - just click a spot. Use ::fish any time to pick something else; the menu pages through every fish you can currently catch, and your choice sticks across logout.
Why do Slayer here
- Every monster drops its real OSRS loot table, so tasks are a genuine money faucet on top of points.
- Several bosses are Slayer-tier content (Kraken, Cerberus, Smoke Devil - see the boss roster).
- Task kills stack with everything else you're doing in the world - war frontiers included.
