Trading Post & the market
From the Fall of Varrock Wiki - The Lumbridge courtyard market, the Trading Post's buy/sell prices, and what's deliberately not sold.
The economy centres on the Lumbridge courtyard market — every essential vendor stands in two shop rows by the castle, so you never hunt for a shop.
The Trading Post
::market opens the Trading Post — a player marketplace with an NPC backstop so trading works even at low population:
- Buying: pay full item value.
- Selling: receive 85% of value (the 15% margin is a deliberate gold sink).
- Always in stock: smithing feedstock (coal, gold/mithril/adamantite bars), high runes (nature, law, death, blood, cosmic, astral), essence, uncut gems, big bones, high herbs (ranarr, snapdragon, torstol, kwuarm), raw sharks and manta rays.
- Items other players sell get listed for anyone to buy back.
Bonds are never bought by the post — they only move player-to-player. See Bonds & membership.
The market rows
- General stores & supply vendors — food, tools, runes, gear up to the adamant cap (dragon and rune-plus come from drops, the Forge and war loot; better food and potions are gated behind skilling).
- Armoury — heavier armour unlocks with your feudal rank.
- Loot Chest — claim your wilderness loot keys.
- Emblem Trader — the PK Rewards shop (Blood Money).
- Bond Merchant — redeem bonds.
- Gambling Host — house dice at the south end.
- Reward shops — spend Boss tickets and Vote tickets (tradeable, stackable ticket items earned from bossing and voting).
- The fountain altars — at the north end of the aisle: the Altar of the Occult (west of the fountain) switches your spellbook, and a prayer altar (east of the fountain) recharges prayer points — bones offered on it earn boosted Prayer xp.
Player trading
Direct player-to-player trading works everywhere with the standard two-screen trade interface. Check your net worth with ::wealth, or see the richest players online with ::wealthtop.
